Terry and Sherrie Thorne Collection

The Terry and Sherrie Thorne Collection contains photographs, pamphlets, newspapers, and reports illustrating the rich history of the Squamish area, from 1890 to 1950. It is a selected portion of the materials in the Terry and Sherrie Thorne Collection donated to the Squamish Public Library in 2017. The Thornes were an early settler pioneering family in the Squamish Valley. They were known agriculturalists who were involved in several local initiatives, including the Squamish Valley Hops Raising Company. The Thornes also played a role in the development of the Pemberton trail. Explore this collection to learn more about Squamish communities and industries, as well as the history of the settlement of the Squamish Valley/Squamish Lillooet Regional District.
