Some of the main articles in this include: An Art Gallery featuring paintings of Tumbler Ridge’s landscape and Quintette Mine, the All Start Banquet and Auction and the Wolverine Nordic and Mountain Society planning its first ski race.

An issue from the Tumbler Ridge Observer- dated January 12, 1997. The issue is from volume 8, issue number 2 and is eight pages in length. Some of the main articles in this include: Skiing with the Wolverine Nordic and Mountain Society, Property Assessment notices and Ron Lukey's photography of Quintette Mine’s machinery and workers.

The Tumbler Ridge Observer 1997 Collection contains selected issues of the Tumbler Ridge Observer Newspaper published between January and December 1997. These newspapers are incredibly important to the Tumbler Ridge Community as they are some of the only known public primary sources of the town and its community members. All of the material comes from the Tumbler Ridge Public Library's Newspaper Collection. Ultimately, as the material is bounded and the text is close to the gutter, some pages feature cut-off words. Although we attempted to alleviate this issue as much as possible in the OCR process by adding back the lost words, some were simply illegible due to the binding.
