The collection holds three different versions of a map of Indigenous languages of the Pacific Northwest; originally produced in 1973 by Wayne Suttles and Cameron Suttles. The map is oriented according to up-river (top of map) and down-river (bottom of map) in keeping with way that the indigenous groups represented on the map represent geographic orientation in their cultures. The collection also contains two supporting documents related to this map: a letter from Wayne Suttles to Dale Kinkade explaining the reasoning behind the alternative geographical reptresentation (COAST-5) and a handbill providing the prices of the original 1973 version of the map (COAST-4).
