At the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympic Winter Games, a loonie brought good fortune to Canada when our men's and women's hockey teams skated to victory over a Canadian Lucky Loonie buried at centre ice. The reverse features a Canadian Loon on water with an island in the background. The official Olypmic logo is displayed above the loon. On the outer periphery are the words "CANADA" and "DOLLAR," Just below the loon is the year of issue.
