The document is a report prepared by the Advisor to the Gender Equity Program Framework of "Skills Now!", an initiative of the Ministry of Skills, Training and Labor, and Ministry of Women's Equality. "Skills Now!" was a $200 Million government initiative launched in Spring 1994 to reform the British Columbia post secondary system. It focused on improving access to training, the relevance of programs, affordability and accountability. The six-month-long gender equity initiative was introduced in response to concerns expressed by the Ministry of Women’s Equality and community groups that women in their diversity were not perceived to be sufficiently and substantially benefiting from "Skills Now!" The report shares the methods adopted to implement this initiative and its outcomes.
