This is a collection of photographs and slides from the UBC First Nations House of Learning Grand Opening ceremony that took place on May 25, 1993. The collection is a mix of photographs and slides from the occasion, and they were digitized by UBC School of Information students as part of a class project.
Information about the photos was drawn heavily from the book, "The First Nations Longhouse: Our Home Away From Home" by Verna J. Kirkness and Jo-Ann Archibald. Throughout this book, the authors referred to the building as the First Nations Longhouse, and to respect their language, this terminology was adopted for image descriptions here.
