Three humna figures at the top of the housepost represent the students who will come here to learn. Standing tall, one faces left, one faces forward, one faces right. The stylized wolf figure below has a human quality in that it is standing upright holding a young pup in its hands. The hands have the look of claws on extended human fingers. The feet look like human feet. The head looks like a stylized ceremonial mask. The pup is more realistic looking. Its head, ears, face, snout, body shape, paws, and tail are naturalistic (p. 44, The First Nations Longhouse)
