I myself have been inordinately pressed both in the practice as well as with the page proofs of the book, now happily nearing the time when it will be off my hands! They are not all recent skins but will send you others if you advise me that you would like them It has turned very cold here recently and it looks like being a severe winter, may be that will be good for the duck shooting. By the way do you want Athene noctua from here, or Strix aluco sylvatica? Also Aluco flammeus presumably, if you would not want. Do you want any specimens of Calliinula chloropus chlo I have recently had a visit from John Williams, of the Nairobi museum; I believe you know him. With the recent gales we have had, there has been a real “wreck” of Petrels, on the west coast large numbers of Leach’s Fork-tailed Petrels have been stranded, and I have had one from o Well that is, I think, about all the news at present so will end this.
