6542 Lime Street, Vancouver, B.C. Canada. July 25.1951 Dr. James M. Harrison; "Bowerwood House", St. Botolph's Road. Sevenoaks, Kent. England. Dear Dr. Harrison; I have only now returned from California where I was suddenly called owing to the serious illness of my brother and so was unable to send you the four birds when promised. However these are now packed are going forward today. The parcel contains the following, 1 Male Harlequin Duck #676 1 Fem. " " #677 1 Male Hooded Msrganser #3964 1 " White-w.Crossbill #692 These are all good specimens and will, I hope, please you. The pair of Garganey and the pair of Common Scoters arrived safely during my absence. I am very pleased to have them to add to my collection. Can you now secure for me a good specimen of the Light-breasted Brent? In return I can send you a fine specimen of the Black Brant which I took this spring. I may be able to secure a female Hooded Merganser for you this fall or winter. In my letter of March 3lst.195O I gave a list of my desiderata and I still need these with the exception of the Dark breasted Brent Goose, The Garganey Duck, The Tufted Duck and the European Teal all of which I have secured specimens. With reference to your letter of April 11.1950. If you still have that female Rook to spare I will be glad to have it as the one promised me did not materialize and so I have no representative specimen. I would also like a specimen of the Razor-billed Auk. If you care to take the time I would very much like to have a list of any spare bird skins you may have for exchange. Please remember me to David and with k1nd regards, Sincerely yours, Kenneth Racey file:///C/Users/outer/Desktop/Harrison-Racey%20Uploads/ACCESS%20FILES%20+%20TRANSCRIPT/48.txt[11/25/2025 10:35:37 AM]
