Port Hardy Airport Vancouver Island B.C. Canada May 27. 1951 Dear Dr. Harrison: Your letter of April 1st 27th & may 1st have been forwarded to me at this point & needless to say I was much pleased to hear from you. As soon as I return to Vancouver which will be about the middle of June, I will forward to you a parcel of bird specimens. I look forward, with much interest, to the arrival of the Garganey & common Scoters & to compare the latter with the race found on this coast. I have had a fairly successful collecting Trip & have put up something better than a hundred specimens and have succeeded in filling in some blank spaces & series for my collection & among these a nice series of Black Grant. I have not been so fortunate with the aleutian Sandpiper and wondering Lathers & I was only able to collect one of the former & it was not in breeding plumage. The weather during the mouth of april early May was altogether too fine, bright days' Clear nights with a northwest wind- Ideal for the migrating waders & they went through without the usual stop over. Yes, I would be very pleased to have a specimen of alea torda. When I return home [ILLEGIBLE] write [ILLEGIBLE] regarding a copy of your book. With kind personal regards, Sincerely yours, Kenneth Racey file:///C/Users/outer/Desktop/Harrison-Racey%20Uploads/ACCESS%20FILES%20+%20TRANSCRIPT/20.txt[11/25/2025 9:56:36 AM]
