6542 Lime Street Vancouver , B.C. May 9.1950 Dr. James Harrison, Bowerwood House" St .Botolph's Road, SEVENOAKS, Kent. England. Dear Dr. Harrison; Replying to your letters of April 30th. and May 3rd. I have now secured specimens of the British Red Grouse, but not the Ptarmigan. I am sorry I have nothing in hand at the moment which might be of interest to you. I do know you desire a pair of Hooded Mergansers and am trying to collect these. Could you not give me a list of what other birds you would like from here? In so far as my wants are concerned, specimens made up during the last three or four years (or even six or seven years) are quite in order. It is very difficult to relax and make over very old skins, often they are grease burnt etc. I think if you will send me a detailed list of the species you desire I feel sure I will be able to secure some of them. With reference to the list of dediderata detailed in the second paragraph of my letter of April 27th. Would the specimens (except the rook) mentioned stand making over if necessary. I am looking forward to receiving you list of duplicates referred to in your former letters. I hope you may have a very pleasant and profitable trip to Sweden in June and only wish it were possible for me to make the journey. With kind regards, Yours very sincerely, Kenneth Racey. file:///C/Users/outer/Desktop/Harrison-Racey%20Uploads/ACCESS%20FILES%20+%20TRANSCRIPT/13.txt[11/25/2025 9:49:49 AM]
