6542 Lime Street. Vancouver , B.C. Canada. April 27.1950 Dr. James M. Harrison, "Bowerwood House" St. Botolph's Road, Sevenoaks, Kent. England. Dear Dr. Harrison; I have for acknowledgment your letters of March 3lst. and April llth. Thank you but I do not need specimens of Tyto alba, Sula bassana, Tetrao urogallus or the Anser fabalis brachyrhynchus. In reading over your letters I note you can spare the following; Tufted Duck, Male and Female Teal, Adult Male. Smew, Adult Female only, not a male. Rook, Female. These I would like to have if they are really good specimens and of recent vintage The parcel containing the four woodpeckers has just arrived. Thank you for them. I was rather disappointed to note that they are not very good specimens, however I have relaxed and remade the two Great Spotted, but the Lesser are beyond my capabilities. At the moment I have for exchange the following, 1 Mergus serrator, ad.M. l Oidemia deglandi dixoni, as F. 1 Accipiter striatus velox F. 2 Loxia c. sitkensis, F. l Pipilo maculatus oregonis M. 1 Euphagus cyanocephalus, M. l Aphriza virgata, M All are good skins except the O.d.dixoni which is only fair. Are you interested in any of these? I have now secured a specimen of Branta b. bernicla so kindly cross it off my list of desiderata. For some unknown reason the Hooded Mergansers have become very scarce about here. I have sent out s.o.s. calls to friends, but so far without result. I look forward with pleasure to receiving your list of duplicate material. Kind regards to David who I hope is enjoying his medical studies, and with best wishes, Sincerely yours, Kenneth Racey file:///C/Users/outer/Desktop/Harrison-Racey%20Uploads/ACCESS%20FILES%20+%20TRANSCRIPT/10.txt[11/25/2025 9:47:36 AM]
