Marlene pigeon w sociologist who was the center of a
recent controversy at the University of Chicago, will address
a public meeting of the Vancouver Women’s Caucus on June 18th.
at 8:00 P.M. at 138 East Cordova Street.

Dre Dixon was fired from the University of Chicago anid
charges of diacrimination oh the basis of sex. A sit-in at the
University resulted. ‘The student protest, probably for the. |

first time, included the issue of women’s liberation. |

Dr. Dixon has been very active in the women s liberation

movement in the Unted States and was the founder of a women s
| | ‘avers tion group in Chicago. The Women s Caucus in Vancouver
is a group which is similarly concerned with equality and
tiberation for womens | |
Dr. Dixon, who has worked both in the history and sociology
of women will be joining the faculty of McGill University this
September. She will speak to the Vancouver Women s Caucus on
the family in North America. A short business meeting will

preceed the speaker. The public is cordially invited.
