Pesticide Use Permit

Permit Number 102-471-88/90

The Minister of Transportation and Highways has
received from the Administrator, Pesticide Control
Act, Ministry of Environment and Parks, a Pesticide
Use Permit that will allow the use of 250 kilograms
of Glyphosate per year for the purpose of noxious
weed control as required by the Weed Control Act.
The treatment sites will be those areas of Highway
rights-of-way and gravel pits found to be infested
with noxious weeds and will comprise a total of 100
hectares per year within the Dawson Creek and Fort
St. John Highways Districts. All herbicide applica-
tions will be by the spot treatment method usually
utilizing a truck mounted. sprayer-with handguns
while backpack sprayers will be used where
necessary.

The commencement date of this project is August 15,
1988 and the completion date is September 15, 1990.
A copy of the permit and map of the project area
may be examined in the Ministry of Transportation
and Highways’ office at 1201-103rd Avenue, Dawson
Creek, B.C. and 9711-100th Avenue, Fort St. John,
B.C.
