mation is used for both personal and research purposes, adn requests most frequently concern information on legal, medical,financial as well as on the various workshops which we provide. il.Staffing the Women's Centre: When the Centre is wpen, those "on staff" answer in person and telephone requests, handle the library procedures, sort and auswer the mail, and! post intormation about relevance community activities. in addicion, the ‘staffer gathers and organizes intormation, including the purcnasing or library books, maintaining magazine subscriptions and purchases newspapers and journais for intormation relevant to our general files. In addition the statfer is available to sociaiize with people who wish to drop in and chat with other women on campus. Finally, tne starrer provides emotionai support and counseling to women who arrive in a crisis situation. Host women that come to the Centre are incterescted in all or the services mentioned above, but we can make tne following approximate. estimate of time spent by tne siaffer in eacu area. 20% of the people the stafrer sees are requesting inrornation, 20% require counselling ana support, ana 20% are using the Centre as a drop-in.
