GRACE CHEN AND UBC VISITORS/ SOOCHOW CANAL) Meeting with the Toronto chapter of the SJUAA On November 9th, Dr. Grant Ingram and Ms. Shannon von Kaldenberg, Director of Development at UBC, were invited to a luncheon hosted by the Toronto chapter of the SJUAA. Nine members of the local chapter were in atten- dance, including their President, Mr. Felix Huang. It was an excellent opportunity to inform the local Johanneans of recent developments at St. John’s College, to share the College's goals for future academic programming, and ay different parts of the world, were instrumental in the establishment of St. John’s College on the UBC campus, a new academic graduate residence focusing on international themes and global-change issues. The UBC group was given a warm welcome and a guided tour of the beautiful main campus buildings by Professor Grace Chen, President of the local SJUAA, Johannean Henry Yung, and Lu Li Hua, Deputy Director of the East China University of Politics and Law. The tour included stops in many of the landmark buildings of the former St. John’s University, with their unique architectural style. British Columbia Premier Reunion Fourth World Reunion of Johanneans to be held in Vancouver: July 22-25, 1999 St. John’s College and the Vancouver chapter of the St. John's University Alumni Association are working together to welcome alumni of St. John’s University in Shanghai to the 4th World Reunion. TE Ying, the President of the Vancouver chapter of the SJUAA, has issued an invitation to all Johannean chapters in the world to attend the reunion. This event will both commemorate the 120th anniversary of the founding of St. John’s University in 1879 and mark the official completion of the third and final construction phase of St. John’s College at UBC.
