Reports e a) UBC Summer School; »b) SFU Plans; oc)VCC Plans; a) High School Seminar; e) NDY Conference at Banff and Fall Regional Conference; f) Manpower Group; gs) Establishing a - downtown office; h) Volunteers for working committee and vole unteers for financial committee. 2- Panel Discussion ee Reports: | a) Narcy Cohen reported that the UBC summer school project has made arrangements to visit Mrs. Thompson, who is teaching in _ the education department, to discuss the possibility of talking about women s liberation in the classrooms. The group will be getting a write up in the UBC student newspaper and are now ‘preparing a leaflet for the education students. Volunteers for. this committee are urgently needed. Call b) Dodie Weppler reported that the summer plans at SFU include organizaing @ series of seminars dealing with the various aspects | of the women s liberation movement. The first of these seminars _— Will be held on June 12th at 12:30 PM with a discussion on the nyths surround ing women. ; ee Weis | ©) Sue Clause reported that an effort is being made to organize the women at City College particularly around & establishing a CO-op nursery. a) Orleen Martin reported that six women from Simon Fraser con- ducted a seminar at Eric Hamber school with the High School Students Union. Pat Hoffer spoke on the dating game. A diseussion followed. " e) Jean Rands reported on Women's Caucus actvity at the Western Regional New Democratic Youth Conference at Banff in May. Two meetins at the conference produced @ valuable exchange of exper tence and ideas. It was generally agreed by the women that a Fall | Regional Conference on Women s Liberation should be organized The Caucus also called a seminar on Women, Reform or Revolution” which involved everyone at the conference. The participants felt it was probably the best digcussion they had seen of men and women _ together dealing with the relatonship between women s liberation © and the struggle for socialism. f) Jean Rands reported that the Manpower group is considering some | kind of demonstration at the Manpower Center for purposes of —«__ attracting attention to the Women s Caucus. A strategy for an ES eee Far cs Sky eye Rep ie effective demonstration will be discussed at future Manpower meetings. . The strategy of registering for jobs usually reserved for men was | tried.
