Thee federal government 1s no different than other employers. lar

increase their orofits. In this system human needs are not served -
instead, we are USED so emplyers can mae money. They know that many
of us aoolyins for a joh have been unable to find permanent work anc
therefore have to acceot a temporary job. ‘They know that the risine
cost of livines means many women must supplement the family income.
They ‘now students and women on welfare have few other opportunities
for vork.

women are brourht out of the home when employers need us, not
when we need a jobe We are forced to acceot the low paying jobs with
no job security or fringe benefits. And this discrimination not only
hurts us, but all working people. As lonz as employers can hire women
for low waces, they vill not hire men or women for decent wages.

We will continue to be used as cheap labour unless we start to
demand our richts.e. We must protest the hirins procedures. Why are
men hired on one day and women another? Why are jobs filled accordine
to sexy and not job qualifications? Why are osOple working on a teémpo<
rary basis paid less than those workins on a full-time basis?
