School reopens for text-book September 6, 1960. issuing Naa Leak Malcolm Isiand School sent a goodly num- ber of contestants over to the féstival at Alert Bay. There were forty-five entries in the various classes. In many cases. one pupil entered two or three events. We were able to bring home a creditable number of firsts, seconds and thirds. Our crowning glory was the big cup, won by Philip Dupuis for the most outstanding performance of the festivalsThis is the second year Philip has achieved this well-contested honour. We are all proud of him. After all the rush of last minute prac- tices, coupled with worries about weather and transportation, and the many "do this's and " do not do That's impressed upon the boys and girls, the great day dawned. Everything went smoothly. The weather was perfect. Mr. Salmi's boat made three runs to pive-us-a jolly trip both ways. The young people were on their best behaviour no one fell overboard, no one got lost, no one even strayed from supervigsion.The gen- erous help of the parents with the party helped make the day a long-to-be-remembered one for pupils and teachers.
