Without the fire pump, the near-by
sheds and boats would have gone too.

Dave’ Tarkanen's boat, the Kazan,
was ted beside Dixon's garage and
was algo on fire. They figured it...

The boats. and sheds that were
near the fire, caught on fire now .
and then. But with men always ready
and watehing put the fires out as
they started.

The fire pump was of great help.
If the fire would have reached. the
gas tanks of the burning boat, it
would have surely spread the fire
to the other boats. Jt would have
possibly killed some of the people
standing by.
