They feel that their loss of a member representative would break down contacts. It was moved and carried that a letter would be sent indicating that the munici- pality wishes to retain its appointee on the Board. A delegation from the Summer Youth Ministry approached council to in- form them of their program and its aims for the sum- mer. They also requested they be allowed to fall ‘under the blanket of the Community Centre’s liabil- ity program as they were unable to obtain insurance. Administrator Bob Miles stated that, in order to be covered, the group would have to be under the direct supervision and employ of Tony Goode. Further dis- cussions will take place with Goode to see if some equitable arrangement can be reached. A delegation from the Tumbler Ridge Post Office was present with a request that Mayor and Council proclaim June 8 to June 14 as Postal Employees Week in Tumbler Ridge. Acting Mayor Pope. signed. the declaration upon a vote by council. Council was also in- formed of the scholarship for $500 that will be pre- sented at the Graduation Ceremonies to one student for his or her continuing education. The scholarship was raised by the postal employees. A letter from Minister Hugh Curtis, regarding Council’s April 30 letter on the proposed committee to review industrial assess- ment methodology was re-. ceived for information. A staff report from Jim Greenwood was received regarding the Steeprock Trailer Park road repair. The report indicated that the necessary work would start June 4. It was indi- cated that the work would be substantially complete by June 20. The cost of the work will be approximately . $25,000 and will be paid for by the municipality. A report was received. from Tony Goode regarding the Community Centre Res- taurant closure to shorter hours.
