DEORTS Community entre news There is a Tennis Tour- nament August 20 and 21. This is a fun event where you-can test your skills and level of tennis, and maybe even win a medal- lion. There are five events: Ladies’ and Men’s Singles, Ladies’ and Men’s Doubles, and Mixed Doubles. You may register up until 8:00 p.m. August 18, so come on by the Front Desk and have some competition. There will be a special Tennis Clinic on August 16 to work on service and volley, and another clinic on August 17 to work on game strategy. These classes will help prepare you for the Tennis Tour- ney during T.R. Days. Other tennis clinics are August 13 and 14 and September 3 and 4. The instructor for all clinics is Art Stewart. There is a Length Swim- ming Monday to Friday 11:30 to 1:00 p.m. and on Sundays 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. There are Public Swims on Mondays, Wednes- days and Fridays at 1:00 to 2:45 p.m. On Satur- day and Sunday there is a Family Swim from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. A more de- tailed schedule is avail- able at the Front Desk. Sun Fun has one more session left, August 15 - 26. There will be an over- night camp-out at Gwil- lam Lake too. The kids in the past have really en- joyed their session. So if you like to play games, swim, do crafts, hike and are ages 6 to 12 years old, please join and have a great two weeks. The leaders, Moya, Tina, Nicole and Toni will greet you with smiles of sun. The weight room, ‘‘The Rock Pit,’’ is open Mon- day to Friday 10:30 to 1:30 p.m. and 4:00 to 10:00 p.m. On weekends, the gym is open 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. Come on by and get a program started, or be spotted by Denise, Shelley, Dale and Keith. Library hours are Mon- day, Wednesday, and Fri- day 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Tuesday and Thurs- day 2:00 to 5:00, and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.. The library is closed on Saturday and Sunday. A special thanks goes out to the Hudson’s Hope Hockey Club for all their hard work in organizing such a well-run hockey tournament.
