Sydney C. Freedman -High school graduation King Edward 1943-46, 1/2 year art school. Work Experience: -Door boy/Usher at the Vogue Theatre 1943-46 Full Time: 1946-1948 -Doorman/Assistant Manager at Studio Theatre 1949-54 appointed Manager Sept.1954. At age 26 was the youngest downtown manager in Canada. -Supervised Quadra Theatre in Victoria for 1 year. -Opened Canada's first triple theatre Lougheed Mall in . 1969. -Did all my own newspaper and radio ads. Was a director of B.C. Theatre's association. -Won 12 international showmanship awards. -Was a charter member of the Variety Club and a Crew member, in charge of publicity and promotion. -Many years before Variety Club was formed promoted Easter and Christmas shows every year with gifts and treats for handicapped children. They were transported by Lions Club Bunny buses. -Left motion picture industry in January 1972, worked for Pacific Press June 1972-0ctober 1989 handling theatre and entertainment pages for The Province and then The Sun and The Province Newspapers.
