A $5.2 million expansion of the Azu Ski Village, located approximately half between Dawson Creek and Prince George, received support from the federal and provincial govern- ments today in the form of a $400,000 loan. The approval of the funding under the Canada- British Columbia Travel Industry Development Subsidary Agreement (TIDSA) was announced today by Senator Jack Austin, minister of state for social development, on behalf of a number of federal ministries and the provincial ministry of industry and small business. The TIDSA funds will be used to assist with the installation of power, water and sewer facilities. The development will also include construction of a triple chairlift, a T-bar, a beginners’ tow, and a 1,260 square metre day lodge. The day lodge will provide a cafeteria, a lounge, a ski shop, a nursery, a first aid lockers and a general office. New ski trails, roads, a miain- tenance building and a 500 car parking lot will also be included in the new development. Azu Ski Village, also known as ‘Powder King’ has an average annual snow fall of 12.8 metres, a vertical drop of 906 metres and a ski season that runs from mid November to the end of April. ‘Once construction is completed the area will be change planned capable of serving 2,065 skiers per day. The facility is well positioned to serve skiers from the north. Prince George, Mackenzie, Dawson Creek, Fort St. John, Chetwynd and Grande Prairie will have access to a new ski hill second to none. The project is expected to generate 30 jobs during the construction period and 50 full time jobs when in operation. Projects under TIDSA are cost shared equally between the federal department of Industry, Trade and Commerce and Regional Expansion and the B.C. Ministry of In- dustry and Small Business Development. v_wwwwvwwewvwvvevvVCVUVTTTCCCTT. ee Alaska Cafe FULLY LICENCED DINING 55 Paces South of the Mile 0 Post 1 Bt Sen B= hem io Sm Bt 10417 - 10th St. Main St. Dawson Creek Beaverlodge, Alberta Ph. 782-8608 354-8110 w WE SELL & SERVICE SEWING MACHINES * JEAN PATTERNS & FABRIC * JOGGING FLEECE x FULL LINE OF FABRICS Notice to Creditors and Others NOTICE is hereby given that creditors and ff others having claims against the estate of J PERRY DENNIS ANDREWS o.k.a.
