There was also a series held at Capilano College in March.
In January one of our members Janiel Jolley went to
Waterloo Lutheran University as a protest candidate for
‘Miss Canadian University". The candidate from York
University Judy D'Arcy also johned her in protesting the
competétive judging of female bodies for the purpose of
creating profits for cosmetic companies, etc.

At the end of November 1969 we decided to oS i on

eut down the number of deaths from illegal abortions, and
to get the information we needed to do something about the
new liberalized-do-nothing abortion law. vy we discovered
was so horrifying that we decided to wae repeal of the
Abortion Law and changes in the way hospitals and doctors .

half of this year. During the first six months of this year
we experienced an incredible degree of non-communication
with federal and provincial governments and with the medical
