6. Imperialism: Information-on. the use of the Peace Corps..and.ather organ-
izations, and other ways that American foreign policy utilizes the techniques
of enforced sterilization and birth control (inserting loops for example, and
then splitting, with no provision made the women who suffer pain as a result).
A.e Canadian agencies involved in this kind of population control? At home,
are these techniques being used against poor and Indian women? (Enforced ©
sterilization of black women is becoming widely used in the U.S.)

7. Hospital boards of trustees: Who sits on the hospital boards - corporate
connections.

8. Collection of experiences with doctors: Sheila Maxwell is willing to
co-ordinate this. Women should write up briefly their experiences with
doctors and hospitals and give them to Sheila. Horror stories and also more
subtle forms of invalidation and male chauvinism are needed.

Organization: We have about three montis or a little more before the
caravan wouftd: begin if we are planning te begin the caravan itself in May.

~The actual operation of the caravan cannot be decided until we have had more

communication from Vancouver Women's Liberation and other groups across the -
country, especially in Ontario, to find out how much interest there is in the
caravan and how much work women want to put into the campaign.

The botiowing neondHale deal with the local campaign in Toronts and other ..
parts of Ontario. We suggest as a possible time-table that the. first month
be spent in doing research,: starting to write up the research in pamphlets,
designing posters, and getting information out to other Women's Liberation
groups, particurly in Ontario. By the first of March we should have made
initial contacts in areas where we want to organize around the campaign, and
the campaign would build up in late March and April.

e. begin pamphlet writing - throw-away sheets on the action, pamphlet on

our political position on abortion, critique of existing laws, other pamphlets

groups organizing in a specific area might want to write pamphlets designed
with a particular group in mind - e.g. sisi i school . etadents, welfare
women. re ;

f. list of names of women who hove time and are interested in beginning to.
travel in Ontario to talk to other groups about the abortion caravan. (There
are groups of some kind in Ottawa, Kingston, Waterloo, Windsor, London, Guelph,
Hamilton, Sudbury, Thunder Bay, and individual women in other cities as well).
