THE TUMBLER TIMES - PAGE 2 THE TUMBLER RIDGE SWIMMING POOL ; present plans call for an"above ground" swimming pool. If we decide we want more than this, we will need to do some work. To date Pat Walsh and the Tumbler Ridge Municipality have given us good support on the things we have decided to do our- selves. One way of getting a total swimming pool may be to: 1. Hold a meeting. 2. Form a society. 3. Do some fund raising. 4. Build a total swimming pool. as an addition to the Recrea- tion Centre. L. DeMelt RESCUE MADE POSSIBLE a the evening of 27 February, there Bec a snowmobile accident near Kinuseo Falls in which a serious back injury was incurred. As the First Aid attendant involved, I would like to publically commend Dan Chin, the helicipter pilot, for making an immediate rescue possible. The risk of flying a helicopter at night in mountainous terrain can be appreciated if it is realized that keeping the helicopter airborn rests entirely on the pilot's expertise and ability to differentiate horizon from mountains. Iam personally pleased with the "return flight" and the opportunity to continue my career in First Aid. Me Vickers TUMBLER RIDGE LADIES "TIME OUT" "Time Out" is a weekly gathering of ladies interested in crafts, conver- sation and meeting others. It's held at the Rec. Tumbler Ridge has been asked to send a representative; a motion was made at the Tumbler Ridge Community Com- mittee meeting to have Len DeMelt represent us at this meeting in Fort Nelson. Pat Walsh agrees that tourism will be Tumbler Ridge's second industry. Along this line, the thinking is the sooner we get local representation on the area associations, the sooner we can promote the facilities which attract tourists. The idea of making Tumbler Ridge Northern B.C.'s Jasper has been men- tioned by the optomistic! L.
