1993/94 REGIONAL FRAMEWORK DOCUMENT - INFORMATION

Enclosed is the 1993/94 "Regional Framework Document", which supports the 1993/94
Chairman's Planning Guidelines.
Once again, the document is formatted to reflect the client-centred approach of the LFDS
and EIC's Programs and Services. In addition, best practice alternatives are provided
to link specific program initiatives with particular client needs. With this in mind,
readers should note that the central purpose of the Framework Document is to assist
local offices, regional branches, and external partners plan budgets, volumes, and
develop local program mixes.

Also enclosed are planning support documents in the form of appendices. The
appendices include information on regional economic and labour market forecasts,
analyses of industrial sectors, provincial and territorial labour market priorities, skill and
training demands by locale, and a designated group policy implementation checklist.
